Project Summary
The Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) in Macau is a state-of-the-art facility for conferences, exhibitions, and events. The Ballroom is part of the larger Galaxy Macau resort complex, which includes several hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The Ballroom is home to approximately 5,300 sqm of flexible, pillar-less meeting space that is divisible into 3 separate halls, that can accommodate up to 6,000 guests. The advanced, programmable LED ceiling creates a myriad of immersive experiences for events of any kind. As Asia’s most iconic and advanced MICE destination, GICC provides the flexibility meeting planners need and generous networking spaces for delegates from around the world to gather. Project Narrative
The auditorium at the Macau Galaxy International Convention Center is a world-class venue for presentations, lectures, and performances. The auditorium features a spacious stage and seating for up to 650 guests, making it ideal for medium-scale events. The venue is equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, including high-definition projectors and surround sound systems. The auditorium also features customizable lighting and sound systems, which can be adjusted to create the perfect ambiance for any event. The motorized lateral acoustical walls also allow the space to adapt and control the acoustics for the different performances. With its advanced technology and comfortable seating, the auditorium at the Galaxy International Convention Center is a premier venue for events of all kinds like keynote sessions, opening ceremonies, cultural or musical performances, and new product launches.
Sustainable Design & Materials
The sustainable design of the GICC saw it become the first venue in Macao to receive a Silver Certification for Environmental Design from Earthcheck, which is considered the world’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for the travel and tourism industries. Earthcheck-certified venues value the environment and sustainability, while ensuring exceptional standards of health and hygiene.
The heating and cooling system for the GICC make use of low-energy units, and the chilled water supply and a 110kV power substation there will supply both the venue and entire Galaxy Macau resort. Eco-friendly Green Walls will be planted along the exterior of the arena and hotel, in order to help regulate temperatures all-year around.
