The Nevada Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Nevada) honors the achievements of exceptional AIA members and firms through this annual awards program.
It is designed to recognize the significant contributions made to the profession of architecture, and to the larger community through the various levels of AIA membership.

  AIA Nevada Silver Medal
This is the highest honor that the AIA Nevada Chapter can bestow upon an individual.  It is given in recognition of the most distinguished service to the profession of architecture and a significant body of work of lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture in the state of Nevada. 
No more than one award is given in any year.

Presented to W. Rick Sellers, AIA

Jury Comments: "Rick’s commitment to the profession for decades is impressive indeed. His designs are well executed, tasteful and articulate. With many awards to show for it. His dedication to community service, academic involvement and a team approach show well in his submittal. Well known in his community and certainly must be a strong influence to peers and emerging professionals. Application was put together well  and clearly explains Rick’s architectural journey."

AIA Nevada Firm Award
This is the highest honor that the AIA Nevada Chapter can bestow upon an architecture firm.  It is awarded to recognize a firm that has consistently produced distinguished architecture and has shown a commitment to the AIA and the profession of architecture and has been a service to the community in which they are located.

Presented to TSK Architects

Jury Comments: "TSK is a long-standing firm … started in 1960, and gracefully holds a contemporary approach in the architecture field. The firm Has won numerous awards to support this. With a philosophy of a clear and fair collaboration, TSK designs spaces that meet clients’ expectations and inspire inhabitants. Their interest in providing a durable, long-lasting architecture that connects with its environment is apparent. Their work shows a strong commitment to community stewardship and nurturing the next generation."

AIA Nevada Young Architect Award

   This award is given to individuals who at an early stage of their architectural career have shown, exceptional leadership in design, education and /or service to the profession

  Presented to Travis Allen, AIA

Jury Comments: "Travis Allen, AIA is clearly a well-rounded and active young architect.  He demonstrates his wide-ranging accomplishments, as a leader and a solid designer at Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto Architects.  His community involvement includes work with AIA Las Vegas, Habitat for Humanity, and teaching and mentoring at UNLV School of Architecture, sharing his experience with other young developing professionals."

  Presented to Alexia Chen, AIA

Jury Comments: "Alexia Chen, AIA has a clear focus in architecture.  She is dedicated to the pursuit of an architecture of Social Equality and Sustainability.  From her leadership on an award-winning Solar Decathlon project at UNLV School of Architecture to speaking at AIA COET and National Clean Energy Summit to being a part of the design of many projects at LG Architects, Alexia demonstrates her passion for what she does."

  Presented to Tina Wichmann, AIA

Jury Comments: "Tina Wichman, AIA is a young architect of quality, with a very strong focus on redevelopment projects in her practice and she demonstrates outstanding community service and attitude for leadership and the environment.  Tina has also demonstrated her dedication to the next generation of architects and has just been appointed to serve on the Nevada State Board of Architecture, Interior Design and Residential Design"

AIA Nevada Emerging Professional
Leadership Award

  The AIA Nevada Emerging Professionals Leadership Award was established to recognize AIA Emerging Professional members who are committed to advancing the profession, their Chapter and whose actions have helped to elevate and improve our communities.  The award provides funding for the recipient to attend the annual Grassroots Legislative and Leadership Conference and the AIA Western Mountain Region Conference

  Presented to Maggie Will, Assoc. AIA

Jury Comments: "Maggie is a member of the AIA Northern Nevada Chapter and is heavily involved in a range of efforts –AIA, Community, Academics…. She is a strong leader with lecturing, conducting outdoor classrooms, playground design and construction, Emerging Professionals Director, ARE Resource Library Director and was volunteer for the A’19 Conference on Architecture.  Maggie's effort’s range from communities in Charlotte, North Carolina to Reno, Nevada!"

  Presented to Destanee Cook, AIAS

Jury Comments: "Destanee’s involvement and leadership in numerous community efforts, the UNLV School of Architecture, the AIA Las Vegas Chapter and in community outreach programs, demonstrates her dedication to the profession.  She has put in a huge effort serving as AIAS President and Past President and is currently a graduate assistant at UNLV. "
