  AIA Nevada Silver Medal
This is the highest honor that the AIA Nevada Chapter can bestow upon an individual.  It is given in recognition of the most distinguished service to the profession of architecture and a significant body of work of lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture in the state of Nevada.
No more than one award is given in any year.

Presented to Jonathan Sparer, AIA

"Mr. Sparer’s gift of service to the community and the profession considering his years of experience in the field is laudable. He provides an example to young and seasoned practitioners alike that it’s what you give back to the profession rather than what you gain that matters most. His service as AIA Las Vegas President continuing into the same role for AIA Nevada, participation in the WMR and AIA National Convention organizing committees, involvement in the UNLV School of Architecture and other organizations hardly looks like retirement to me. His tireless gift of experience, time and money to his community in the best way embodies the AIA’s values of advancing the greater good that fosters stronger, more sustainable communities and a prosperous equitable society."

AIA Nevada Firm of the Year Award
This is the highest honor that the AIA Nevada Chapter can bestow upon an architecture firm.  It is awarded to recognize a firm that has consistently produced distinguished architecture and has shown a commitment to the AIA and the profession of architecture and has been a service to the community in which they are located.

Presented to APTUS

"In this era of collaboration and integration across disciplines, APTUS is a
model of how to structure an office of inclusion and personal fulfillment.
Each member of the firm demonstrates a strong sense of belonging and
identity with the work.  Given the emphasis on collaborative design, it is
equally admirable that they have maintained a high design standard as
exemplified by their many awards.  For a firm at mid-career, we
encourage their continued success."

AIA Nevada Young Architect Award
This award is given to individuals who at an early stage of their architectural career have shown, exceptional leadership in design, education and /or
service to the profession

  Presented to Craig Palacios, AIA

"In a community so dominated by the hospitality industry, it is refreshing to see a young practitioner and firm such as BUNNYFiSH Studio, carve out a niche and significant body of work in the urban design, urban infill and community engagement sector.  The community is the beneficiary of his contributions and indeed provocations at the academy as well as the local press.  He is an example of the need for architects to speak out and to engage in the messy arena of public debate."

AIA Nevada Associate Award

This honor is awarded to the individual Associate Member who has contributed significantly to the profession of architecture through their membership and participation in their local Chapter of the American Institute of Architects

Presented to Dominic Armendariz, Assoc. AIA

"We were very impressed with Mr. Armendariz’s energy and level of engagement at the local and national levels. He has demonstrated great leadership in reaching out to K-12 schools establishing a strong foundation for recruiting future architects.  His efforts have led to hard earned national recognition for the AIAS Student Chapter at UNLV."
