Project Summary
Since 1982, Nevada SPCA has saved the lives of Southern Nevada’s most vulnerable pets. Through their works and support of donors, they inspire human companions to uphold the best possible care, while increasing the human-animal bond through adoption, foster, and preventative care. The new industrial tenant improvement was designed to house more than 2,000 animals annually for the organization.
Project Narrative
Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Nevada SPCA) was founded as Las Vegas’ original no-kill shelter. The scope required design of the interior build-out within the southwestern portion of an existing high bay warehouse, which is the new temporary home for the organization.
The +/-19,500 sf tenant space includes remodels to the existing office area, conference room, and break room. The team created a new, more inviting entry area and provided many new spaces for a variety of animals.
Nevada SPCA takes in over 2,000 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets annually. The ultimate goal is to place each animal into loving homes where they can thrive, provide companionship, and maintain rewarding relationships with their human family.
Sustainable Design & Materials
Besides re-using and occupying an existing building, the project interiors incorporate low VOC finishes throughout, energy efficient systems, air filtration, and low use water systems.
