Project Summary

The most important aspect of any expansion project is maximizing the guests’ experience. The combined creative teams of our firm and Kenneth Ussenko Design have not only achieved this by preserving the property’s classic vintage aesthetic, but enhanced it through a fusion of the eras. This project held true to honor the legacy of this classic Las Vegas property by maintaining the venue’s original charm, creating a timeless appeal.

Project Narrative

The recent expansion and redesign of the El Cortez Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas holds significant importance for its owners, who sought to preserve the venue's classic vintage aesthetic. Given the history significance of the original casino, which reflects the essence of early Las Vegas establishments, it was imperative that the new design did not deviate towards an overly modern approach. Our firm and Kenneth Ussenko Design was granted creative freedom by the owner, Kenny Epstein, who played a pivital role in maintaining the property's authenticity. As a result, the design was carefully curated to create a seamless transition, enhancing the guest experience while preserving the historical DNA of EL Cortez. The design journey of the El Cortez casino expansion takes you on an elevated experience of a bygone era.
